Message From Gail

Leaders:  I hope to see all of you at our Pancake Breakfast & Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday AND at our District meeting on Sunday.  Many of you, I am sure, will be celebrating Girl Scout Sunday that day with the church that sponsors your troop, or at your own place of worship but you won't want to miss our District meeting.  Our 9 "Destinations" girls will be there with various goodies to sell (some edible, some not).  Wait until you see their creativity in coming up with items they KNOW you will want to purchase for yourself, the girls in your troop, your family and friends.  Can't buy everything you will see that day?  Not to worry, they will take orders for future purchases.  Lots of other things to share with you on Sunday.  See you there!

Gail

March Service Project:  Easter Baskets/Buckets

Please remember to bring your filled Easter Baskets/Buckets to the District Meeting on March 9th.

Early Bird Registration

Hello, Leaders!  It is that time of year again to register early and receive a FREE patch and EXTRA cash for our District!  We will receive $1.00 for every girl registered by May 31, 2008.   You can mail your registrations to Sharon or drop them off at her house.  Our District holds an Early Bird dinner for all leaders and co-leaders who register their troops early.  Each troop is encouraged to register Early Bird.  Doing this will cut down on the new membership year paperwork in the Fall.  Please be at the March District Meeting to pick up your Early Bird Packet. A few reminders:

n      Please make sure each parent has signed the forms.

n      Make sure all categories are filled out on the form.

n      Make sure checks are payable to GSHNC.

n      Please make sure the leader's portion at the bottom right corner is filled out.

n      Troop numbers and adult positions are printed correctly.

n      If a girl or adult does not have a pre-printed form, you will need to use a blank registration form.  You can pick these up at the District Meetings, at Council, at my house or you can print them off our Union 1 website.

n      All registrations should have a Dues Summary attached.  My suggestion is to make copies of the Dues Summary for you to use throughout the year.

If you have any questions about Early Bird, please contact.  Thank you.

Daisy Leaders

Daisy Leaders are you interested in coming to an event for just Daisy Scouts?  On May 10, there will be an event for all Union 1 Daisy Girl Scouts and their leaders.  Pick up your flyer on the pick up table Sunday, or get the registration form on line.  Registrations and money will be due by the next leader's meeting on April 13th.  Call or email Kathleen with any questions.

Me & My Guy Dance

Girl Scouts, bring your favorite adult guy (sorry, no ladies allowed) down to the OK Corral for a western hoedown! Come dressed casual, in your favorite finery, or dressed for the roundup.  Event held Saturday, April 5th from 7:00 to 9:00pm.  Cost is $8.00 per person.  This event fills up early, so be sure to get your registration in soon.

Super Science Sunday by Chelsea, Cadette, Troop #939

Hi! My name is Chelsea and I am in Troop #939. I am trying to get my Leadership Award requirements for my Silver Award by putting on a Super Science Sunday event. This event is for Brownies and is on April 13, 2008 from 12pm-4pm. The registration deadline date is March 30, 2008. This event is limited to 25 girls, and costs $10.00 per participant. So bring all your girls and come have fun while earning your Science Wonders and Science in Action Try-Its! We will be learning how to make invisible ink, disappearing colors, gloop that is neither solid nor liquid, and much more! Space is limited so register early!  Thank you.
