District Meeting Recap

October 2007

Hello Leaders:  Great turnout for today's District meeting.  Many new leaders joined us. 

n Thank you to Troop 337 for providing our opening flag ceremony.  Troop 337 also spoke about their Silver Project--collecting items for the Union County Animal Shelter.  They will be back at our November District Meeting to collect these items.  They are seeking toys, treats, collars, leashes, food bowls, grooming items.  Their goal is to fill at least 80 bags. 

n Our science consultant, Cindy, reviewed the procedure for borrowing one of our science bins and demonstrated one of these bins.  These can be used for your troop meetings--it's an all inclusive "meeting in a box."

n Julie introduced a way for leaders to keep track of the requirements for "Outstanding Troop" with an OT bingo board.  Julie will be sending an email with this information attached shortly.

n Information was also available for Union 1's Poinsettia sale and cookie rally.  Printable information was sent out to you earlier this evening regarding both of these.

n Darlene had information for Daisy & Brownie leaders about the Cookies with Santa event to be held on November 17th.  She will be sending out the registration form in an email attachment soon.
