District
Meeting Recap
November
2007
The general portion of
the November District meeting proved to be very short as many of us were returning from the
Junior & Up Camporee.
n
I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the
individuals who volunteered to be on the committee,
put this event together, and then worked their
"you-know-whats" off during the
weekend.. They are: Chris, Julie, Cindy,
Sharon, Lynette, Debbie, Erin, Laney, Terence, Darlene. It takes quite a
bit of planning and effort to put together a weekend event for over 200 girls and adults.
These individuals deserve a round of applause. (Many of them also serve
on our District Team). I would also like to give a big thank you to those
individuals who facilitated activities for our girls: Wendy, Diane, Diane,
Mary Louise, Ronnie, Brian, Sandy, Kathleen, Kelley, Cathy (and her college
buddies). There were also many individuals who took a turn working in the
kitchen or walking girls to their rotation sites, etc. We appreciate ALL who helped during this
event. If I left anyone out of my list of thank you's, it was not intentional. Everyone's help was much appreciated!

Again,
I'd like to say Welcome!
to our new leaders. What a great turnout we've
been having from our new leader group. They all seem excited and ready to
"go" with their troops. It may seem a bit overwhelming at first
(paperwork, new faces, lots to learn) but the leader
job is extremely rewarding. District meetings may also seem a bit
confusing and perhaps rushed. Lots of questions, uncertainy,
etc. Bear with us. Sometimes those of us who have been around
for a while (never say "old") forget what it's like to be a
"newbie." We truly do want all of you to be successful.

Deadline
for poinsettia orders & $$ was yesterday. Hope everyone got theirs to
Chris. Poinsettia pickup is Monday, November 26th at Weddington UM old fellowship Hall. Chris will no
doubt send out a reminder for "times" to pick up as we get closer to
that date.

Cookies
for Santa registration closed yesterday. We are at capacity for this
event which is coming up this Saturday, November 17th from
n
Our
December District meeting
will include our Daisy Dollar Auction.
There are no roundtables scheduled for our December District meeting (
I hope all
of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
